Consciousness Cafe - Entheogens and Psychedelic Cultural Transmissions

Professor of Policy Studies at the UCLA School of Public Policy and Social Research Mark Kleiman discusses the acclaimed Hopkins 2006 study into religious or mystical experiences had by psilocybin users (look HERE for the html version) (see the MAPS links on the study, go to "July 11, 2006"). Kleiman notes that the researchers, despite overwhelmingly positive responses to the study, are still struggling to find funding for further research. "But neither those comments, nor the extraordinarily high score — in the top 7.4% of all submissions — peer reviewers gave a follow-up proposal was enough to persuade the current NIDA Director to support that additional work, so the team is now scrambling to find enough funding to keep itself together. "
